The STRATEGIC INFORMATION SYSTEMS DIRECTOR partners with clinical and administrative leadership to ensure that IT solutions and data are optimized to provide quality mental health services. Responsible for oversight of the IT Department.  Provides direction and sets policy regarding IT solutions to meet agency needs.  Ensures consistent, timely, high-quality data/solutions to meet business objectives, develop information systems strategy, research technology, evaluate products, and supervise information systems staff.


  • Partners with clinical and operations departments to determine information and reporting needs.
  • Partners with groups and individuals involved in Information Technology issues as an advocate for LifeWorks NW and to gain additional insight into solutions for LifeWorks NW. 
  • Creates data and IT governance structures to develop work and long term goal prioritization.
  • Transfers data into business value and position the organization for self-service data analytics.
  • Maintains operations and support documentation.
  • Troubleshoots information technology problems, interfaces with vendors, provides audit analysis and reporting of data from the organizations various information systems.
  • Reviews project plans to plan and coordinate project activity.
  • Meets with department heads, managers, supervisors, vendors, and others, to solicit cooperation and resolve problems.
  • Oversees technical support and training to all staff levels for office productivity tools and information management.
  • Provides oversight for the security of multiple platforms.
  • Researches and recommends new technological approaches to the management of information and resources and stays abreast of technology advancements.
  • Develops and interprets organizational goals, policies, and procedures related to IT.
  • Develops computer information resources, providing for data security and control, strategic computing, and disaster recovery.
  • Consults with users, management, vendors, and technicians to assess computing needs and system requirements.
  • Oversees users with technical support for computer problems as needed.
  • Evaluates data processing proposals to assess project feasibility and requirements.
  • Responsive to e-mail/voice mail throughout the day when working.
  • Continually increases level of cultural sensitivity, awareness and competency.
  • Regular evenings/weekends required.
  • Travels between sites or in the community.
  • Individual and supervisees meet performance standards for productivity, customer service, teamwork, financial management and goals.
  • Provides assistance to direct reports with work issues including establishing clear expectations regarding performance and training, support and attention to employee successes.  Addresses performance issues promptly and effectively.  Provides regular supervision to staff (minimally one time per month); performance reviews completed timely and accurately; reviews and approves timesheets.


  • Bachelor's degree with 3+ years previous experience in IT, Data management, Project management, or Healthcare Administration required.  Master's in Information Management a plus.
  • Prior experience in project or program management essential.
  • Prior experience databases, reporting structures, and data analytics required.
  • Minimum 4 years prior management and supervisory experience required.
  • Previous experience with healthcare practice management/clinic management software.
  • Excellent computer skills including a functional knowledge of Outlook, Word and Excel, and reporting and analytic tools. 
  • Demonstrates effective communication skills and maintains a cooperative working relationship with others in a culturally diverse environment.
  • Requires ability to work evenings and/or weekends
  • Requires access to a car and valid driver's license.
