Child Psychiatrist provides psychiatric evaluation and medication management for LifeWorks NW clients in outpatient and day treatment settings. Clients may have chemical dependency, emotional or behavioral disturbance and/or other psychiatric diagnoses.

The Child Psychiatrist position will work at one of LifeWorks NW's Certified Community Behavioral Healthcare Clinics (CCBHC). In 2017, LifeWorks NW was selected to represent Oregon in the federal demonstration project to implement CCBHCs to advance delivery of behavioral health care. LifeWorks NW's CCBHC sites provide comprehensive client care through a team-based approach with services that include mental health and substance use counseling, peer-delivered health and wellness services, primary care services and psychiatric rehabilitation. Staff that work at our CCBHC sites collaborate with others to care for individuals through daily interactions and support, counseling, skills training, care coordination, health promotion and education, medication management services and supportive services with preventive approach.

POSITION SPECIFIC: This is a part-time, exempt position working at a .8 FTE (approximately 32 hours a week). This position will work out of two LifeWorks NW locations in NE Portland - King (a CCBHC site) and Umoja. This position will see patients in outpatient and day treatment programs. 

PAY/BENEFITS: SIGN ON BONUS /Salary is dependent on experience. Benefits are pro-rated


  • Must be licensed to practice in Oregon.
  • Must be a Psychiatrist with prescriptive privileges. 
  • Must have experience providing psychiatric services for young children and/or adolescents.
  • Good computer skills including a functional knowledge of Microsoft Outlook and Word. Ability to master proprietary software including electronic health record system.
  • Demonstrates effective communication skills and maintains a cooperative working relationship with others in a culturally diverse environment.
