LifeWorks NW provides services to adult male clients experiencing severe and persistent mental illness. This residential program provides services through the provision of skills training, case management, and other services as outlined in a treatment plan.

PURPOSE: The Assistant Administrator assists the Residential Administrator in managing the daily operational aspects. 

PAY/BENEFITS: $37,876 to $38,984 per year. Full benefits

Essential Responsibilities

  • Assists with program development, oversight and implementation.
  • Trains, models and observes the skills training, case management, group and individual counseling, crisis intervention, and other services as outlined on a treatment plan assigned to the residential mental health associates. Trains new staff and provides retraining as required. 
  • Assists with obtaining and maintaining client benefits. Arranges client medical appointments and other appointments as needed.
  • Audits the medication system to ensure prompt delivery of medication.  Accurately communicates with pharmacies and Personal Care Providers. Orders medications and ensures Medication Administration Records (MARs), doctor orders, and medication labels are accurate.
  • Audits charts, MARs, petty cash, client finances, and progress notes related to billing as needed.
  • Ensures that program and client supplies are purchased in a timely manner and supplies are adequately maintained and stored in a safe and sanitary manner.
  • Ensures that evacuation drills are conducted in compliance with applicable state law. 
  • Works with staff to ensure all shifts are covered and serves as back up when needed.  Serves as an on-call administrator for one week each month.
  • Acts as liaison with the Facilities department.
  • Checks e-mail/voice mail daily/throughout the day when working responding to contacts within 48 hours  for routine matter (urgent matters may require a more immediate response)
  • Required to transport clients in a LifeWorks NW vehicle and personal vehicle.
  • May administer first aid only if certified, according to prescribed procedures.
  • Meets standards for documentation and accuracy of work, client care, quality/customer service, attendance/punctuality and teamwork.
  • Continually increases level of cultural sensitivity, awareness and compete

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in psychology, social work, counseling or a related behavioral sciences field OR a minimum of three years of experience working with individuals with severe and persistent mental illness (QMHA status) required.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively; understand mental health assessment, treatment and service terminology and individual, group, family and other counseling techniques; program policies and procedures for services and supports identified in an Individual Services and Supports Plan.
  • Demonstrated effective communication skills and ability to provide culturally-competent treatment services to diverse client populations and maintain a cooperative working relationship with others in a culturally diverse environment.
  • Must have familiarity with medical record coordination or medical case management
  • Demonstrated ability to provide psychosocial skills training, implement elements of a treatment plan, and provide case management services in compliance with confidentiality requirements.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Outlook and Word.  Ability to master proprietary software including electronic health record system required.
  • Requires a valid driver's license, access to a personal vehicle, proof of auto insurance coverage, and ability to meet LifeWorks NW driving requirements.
  • Knowledge of community resources and treatment agencies enabling appropriate referrals for specific client needs.
  • Knowledge of medications commonly used by client population.
